Moving Forward strives to offer effective and informative care.

Moving Forward works with kids from ages 5-18 on all levels. Moving Forward specializes in working with clients on the autism spectrum, behavioral issues, ID functioning level mild, moderate, severe, and profound.

Daily Living Skills: Clients are taught daily living skills, frustration tolerance, behavioral management, and self-awareness through a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio. Frequent community activities to practice social skills and community interaction are crucial in developing confidence and social interaction awareness. Daily living skills are some of the basic abilities that are often not identifiable to some of these vulnerable/at risk/high potential youth. Moving Forward looks to make them identifiable.


Training and educating the child to enhance their ability to independently perform routine activities.
Behavioral Management

Many clients are unable to complete basic skills due to their inability to appropriately manage their emotions.

Developing new ways for the client to handle and express emotions and feelings they are having.

Personal Hygiene

Working with the child/client to develop an understanding the importance of proper hygiene.

Teaching the child/client appropriate methods of taking care of their bodies.

Future Career Training

Focusing on a child/clients strengths an incorporating that into a possible future career.

Staff looks to expand on a child/client strengths, making sure they are aware of these strengths.

Money management

Many children are unaware of the value of a dollar. Moving Forward will provide budget training and money management to help prepare them for the future.

Meal prep and cooking

Being able to cook meals is a crucial skill. Moving Forward looks to help in all aspects of meal prep including budgeting, buying of food, meal prep, and cooking the food.

Accessing and using community resources

Children/Clients that require services are usually unaware of resources available to them. Moving Forward will not only make these resources known but show the child/client how to utilize them.


Mentoring: Moving Forward looks to provide the child/client with social and recreational activities and skills during real life situations. Moving Forward mentors look to build the confidence of the child/client and integrate them into the community through spontaneous and real-life situations.


Working with the child/client out in the community to build confidence and inform them on appropriate social skills.
Having the child/client work through outings and situations on their own with as much minimal support from staff.

Staff looks to help when the client asks for help or displays signs of needing help.
